“A warm welcome and friendly service”
Reopened under new management in 2012, the Shepherds Arms is proving a popular destination amongst visitors and locals alike, whether staying overnight or dropping in for a meal. Our eight rooms are regularly filled with coast to coast walkers, and the bar can be a lively spot where travellers from as far apart as New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA all swap tales of their adventures around the globe, while locals throw in entertaining but useful advice on the adventures still to come.
Our bar and dining menus emphasise local produce and traditional home cooking, and we stock a range of real ales from around Cumbria: with not one but two real fires in the bar plus seating outside by the beck, this is a place to enjoy your food and drink whatever the weather.
So why not take advantage of our Off-season Breaks and discover for yourself what makes Ennerdale such a special place.
