An award winning village inn, the Shepherds Arms is a popular destination amongst visitors and locals alike, whether staying overnight or dropping in for a meal. Our eight rooms are regularly filled with coast to coast walkers, and the bar can be a lively spot where travellers from as far apart as New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA all swap tales of their adventures around the globe.

Our bar and dining menus have alwyas emphasised local produce and traditional home cooking, and we were the first outlet in the area to introduce vegan dishes as standard menu choices. We stock a range of real ales from around Cumbria and a fine choice of wines, so with not one but two real fires in the bar plus seating outside by the beck, this is a place to really enjoy your food and drink whatever the weather.
